
Roll your sleeves up – Hands-on Science and Tech for Girls!
Get ready to explore science, technology, engineering and math with an all-star team of successful women!.
Girls and their parents will have fun while they learn more about amazing women in STEM careers and also try their hands at some real-time problem solving. Activities are intended for parents and girls to do together – aimed at middle-school and older girls.
Everyone will also have the opportunity to explore Couragion and STEM Match to learn more about STEM Careers.
- WHEN: Friday, February 5th– 5:30 pm until 9pm
- WHERE: CU’s Idea Forge Maker Space
o 530-630 pm – Hands-on Lab with interactive activities from STEM Match, Alexander Dawson School, ArloSoul, MakerBolder, Camp Inc., and more. Make LED jewelry, design catapults and more!
o 630-830pm – Hear presentations from amazing women from science and technology fields, learn about their career paths
- Dr. Cathy Olkin– Chief Deputy Scientist on the Horizon Mission to Pluto
- Melissa Risteff and Laura Farrelly– Co-founders of Couragion, and serial tech entrepreneurs
- Hands-on challenge– girls and their parents will enjoy this wacky problem, and the opportunity to work with a team to build the best solution possible. Get ready to laugh, think, and create!
Tickets are just $5 per person and includes snacks and homemade ice cream from Harry and Edna’s Ice Cream.
